Through Customs Notice 15-018, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has informed sufferance warehouse owners/operators licensed by the CBSA that the requirement for the electronic notification of cargo arrival at sufferance warehouses will be mandatory.
This mandatory requirement applies to operators of all types of CBSA-licensed sufferance warehouses. Following a 45 business day implementation period, non-compliant warehouse operators may be subject to penalties starting July 10, 2015.
