About GeTS eCommerce Managed Services

Approved in 2016, a de minimis shipment commonly referred to as Section 321, allows for goods valued at $800 USD or less, to enter duty-free into the U.S. Under this legislation they are permitted to enter without formal entry. Therefore, this regulation is a great option for importers to save money and time.

The Section 321 exemption allows the consignee to become the importer themselves, hence bypassing the duty payable on items purchased internationally, or outside of the United States. The limit for this shipment is $800 USD, and only 1 shipment per day per consignee.

Traditionally the method to fulfill a Sec 321 shipment is via an express facility to either JFK (New York) or LAX (Los Angeles).

GeTS eCommerce Managed Services offers an alternative that allows the shipper to clear in the same manner as using an express facility. Although clearing time may be at a slower pace (between 2-5 days depending on the airport), clients will however receive additional airport choices that they would not have otherwise.

  • GeTS offers more airport clearance than any other Express Consignment Carrier Facility (ECCF) through four airports (LAX, SFO, JFK and ATL)
  • Competitive pricing - Since this is not an express clearance, the mandatory $1 custom fee per House Bill of Lading (HBL) will be saved
